In the month of November, we had 2 great presentations:
My Smart Hands Lehigh Valley visited the 2 and 3 year olds to give a lesson about sign language. The children loved it! They learned how to sign some words, and even a song! It was a fun morning. Here is Dena from My Smart Hands with the group of new signers.
Our other lesson was for Veterans Day. We were honored to have Gracie's uncle and Morgan's dad come to the school to teach us all about their important work. The children were very interested and loved the lesson. Thank you, Mike Kaplan and Mike Volpe, for coming and giving two great lessons, and for providing a U.S. flag for each child!
Special Visitors - October
Apologies for falling behind with our blog posts! Since Mr. Maurer visited in September, we have had many other visitors with interesting lessons to share.
In the month of October, we had four exciting presentations!
The Cetronia Fire Department pulled up in their shiny, red truck to teach us all about fire safety.
Jacob's father visited the five year old class to talk about geology, and show many different items from his collection.
Jaise's mother visited the five year old class to make chocolate bars! The class had been reading Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and followed instructions beautifully to make their own chocolate creations, and design wrappers.
Finally, Reva's mother visited the five year old class to speak about Diwali, a Hindu festival known as the "festival of lights." The children made pictures of diyas, or oil lamps.
