Yesterday, the older children began discussing line, color, and texture in drawing. To practice using the new technique, they headed outdoors, different-colored chalks in hand, to create their own impressions of the lovely maple tree at the end of our drive. Here they are at work. Also pictured are a few finished pieces.
Today, the two year olds observed the same tree from their classroom window and did their own interpretation of its colorful beauty! They crumbled their own pieces of foil, dipped them into the awaiting paints, and "stamped" them onto the trunk of the tree.
